Terracottafilms was a long awaited adventure I didn't ever know I had ahead of me. Looking back, I can see how God guided me to get me where I am today and how He puzzled all of the beautiful pieces together.
I started videography and making my own videos when I was about five years old. My sisters and I would often take my mom's bulky video recorder and make dance videos and vlogs over and over again. When I was in 6th grade, I purchased my first GoPro. I began taking it with me to every family adventure and weekend lake trip that I possibly could. Slowly, and through lots of trial and error, I began learning the art of turning video clips into an actual video with music. This is when I fell in love with filmmaking and the process of capturing memories. I also love that moments of time are forever stored and when they are shared they draw memories and thoughts and keep them alive. My favorite film was one I made to capture our family's trip to China to pick up my sister. Re-living those moments through a video brought so much joy to my parents and my family--a treasured keepsake for sure!
Fast forward to 2020. During the spring of quarantine, I began creating more and more videos (because I had nothing better to do), and simply because I loved to do it. That summer, I received my first camera as an early graduation present and was asked to film a wedding of my sister's friend. I was so excited, but also anxious to see where this would take me. I loved every second and learned so many new things about videography not only with the camera, but also all of the behind the scenes aspects.
After my first wedding, I was asked to do another, and eventually another. I created my own website and started creating a brand for myself. My sisters (I have 5 :)), contributed with the name Terracotta Films and also my logo. Terracotta happens to be one of my favorite colors and we included that in my brand name.
I have had the opportunity to film three weddings within the span of the past six months and have learned so much along the way. With each created film, I learn more and more and am able to use that knowledge and expertise in creating the best videos for my clients. I have several inquiries and a few bookings so far for 2021 and I am SO STOKED.
Capturing the love stories of couples through their wedding day, or engagement is something that initiates a fire in me. I love meeting new people and them allowing me to share their love story through a film. I am eagerly waiting to see where the Lord continues to take me on this crazy adventure through Terracotta Films.
